Swim faster!

Congratulations to all the 12 & Unders that went to New England Championships last weekend. In all we had 6 individual swimmers compete and participated in 5 relays as well. Individuals who qualified for the meet were Kayla Burgess, Jessie Goldberg, Emily Lochran, Michael Tautiva, Ian Wilson and Aly Wolff. A few of the highlights....

After coming off a fast race the weekend before at Regionals, the girls 200 medley relay team of Jessie Goldberg, Aly Wolff, Kayla Burgess and Hannah Hutchinson crushed their old relay time to go 2:14.00. Not to be outdone the boys medley relay of Brendan English, Michael Tautiva, Ian Wilson and Chris Churchill also pulled out a best time. In the biggest drop of the weekend, Ian Wilson took off 6 seconds in the 200 back to go 2:33.89 and close out the Friday session.

Michael Tautiva swam best times in both his 50 breast and 100 breast.  A great first, yes I said "first", season for Mike! The boys 200 free relay of Michael Tautiva, Brendan English, Chris Churchill andIan Wilson swam to a 14th place finish to score more points for Kingfish.  Iguess I should call it a MEN'S 200 free relay now.

Emily Lochran decided to rip up the pool that afternoon. She swam a best in the 50 back to go 35.50, which placed her 11th in all of New England!  Not to mention, the only swimmer from the south shore to even qualify in this event! For an encore, she came back and dropped 2 seconds in her 100 IM to go 1:20.85.

On the final day, Ian Wilson finished with strong performances.  He dropped 1 sec in both the 100 Fly and 100 IM to go 1:16 and 1:12. To cap off the weekend, our 10 & Under Girls 200 Free
Relay consisting of Mikayla Campbell, Avia Maguire, Maddie Damphousse and Emily Lochran raced to a Kingfish best relay place of 12th.  Solid racing, girls!
