12 and unders CT meet

Any 12 and unders that want to go to the Connecticut meet Dec 5-7, I need to know by Friday (please include favorite events).  I will be sending our entry in on Saturday and there is no guarantee that they can fit all of us but we will try.  That being said if you are under 13 you will have to provide your own transportation to the meet and a parent must accompany you.

 
If you email me by Friday at 7pm I will enter you.

No Comp Practice Tomorrow

We had our meet today at Roger Williams therefore, there will be no practice for competitive groups tomorrow, Sunday.

Snorkels and tempo trainers

In order to get the snorkels and tempo trainers at a discount for juniors/seniors we need to order 12 and 12 we are coming up short and want to make sure noone else needs them.  We currently have orders for 11 tempo trainers and 8 snorkels so putting it out there…………

One more parent meeting change/Swimmers Snorkels and Tempo Trainers

So we have had to change the Junior parent meeting due to some school open houses.  It is now scheduled at the Kingsbury Club  next Tuesday the 23rd at 6:30pm in the tennis viewing room.

The AG/DEV parent meeting is still this Friday  the 19th at 5pm in the same location and the REC parent meeting is still next Tuesday the 23rd at 4pm in the meeting room at PWP.

Additionally, it has come to my attention that there are quite a few juniors/seniors that need certain pieces of equipment.  We were discussing at the senior parent meeting tonite and Lynn is able to buy some of these items in bulk and save you all a bit of money as well as shipping however, we need to know by tomorrow how many people are interested.

The items that were discussed were the tempo trainer and the swimmers snorkel.  If your athlete needs these items please email Lynn tonite or at the latest tomorrow by noon and let her know what you would like.  The more orders the better the discount and we will do our best!

CORRECTION: New times for Parent meetings!

Some clarification on parent meeting times at the Kingsbury Club this week:

Tonite the senior parent meeting will be held at 7:00 pm not 5 as sent out earlier.

Tomorrow is the junior parent meeting at 6:30pm

Friday is the AG/DEV parent meeting at 5pm.

Sorry for any confusion!

Rec Parent Meeting, Special Orders, Cancellation of rec practice

Our orders will be submitted tomorrow for all of the items that we order in bulk once per year.  If you did not make one of the fit clinics or you realized you DO want to get a team towel, team suit, caps with your swimmers last name or a warm up suit please email Lynn at loneil@kingfishswimming.com so she can add your order to her list.   These items make great holiday/birthday gifts and won’t be available till next fall for ordering again so plan accordingly.

We have  scheduled a meeting for all parents of REC swimmers at PWP on 9/23 at 4pm.  This is just a short informative meeting to brief all that are  interested on the sport, meets, how the rec program is setup, and will also allow for questions to be answered.   All Rec families are invited to attend!

Lastly, PWP has a high school meet scheduled this coming Thursday the 18th so there will be no rec practice held that afternoon.  If that is one of your regularly scheduled days please choose an alternate for your child to swim this week.

Fittings, Rec equip pickup, ETC…..

So our second and last fitting for suits etc will be tomorrow nite at the Kingsbury Club from about 4-6p.  Lynn will be setup in the back of the club near the locker rooms so you can try suits on, order caps, warmups, towels etc.  Keep in mind the bulk of these items are only ordered once a year so if you need them please let Lynn know by showing up or emailing your order to her.  Additionally, if you will be swimming in any meets you need a team suit.

Also, Lynn was at PWP this afternoon to deliver all equip ordered by rec swimmers.  There is a good amount that was not picked up so please get in touch with her to find out how you can pick up your orders.

We have tentatively scheduled a meeting for Rec parents at PWP on 9/23 at 4p.  This is not definite yet we are waiting to see if the meeting space is available to us so please watch for the email confirming the date and time.

Important Info……Rec startup, Fit Clinic, Team store

Fall Rec officially starts up at PWP tomorrow at 4pm.  Please make sure you have your swimmer registered prior to bringing them to practice if tomorrow is in fact one of their practice days.  Additionally, if you have just registered your rec swimmer a birth cert copy or passport copy is necessary for registration so if you haven’t already please bring that with you to PWP tomorrow to give to Lynn as she will be there handing out equipment to anyone that has placed orders.

All fall schedules for practices are posted and you can reach them from the home page at the link that says “when we practice”.  Also, the tentative fall meet schedule is listed under USS Meet schedule so you can check that out as well.

 On another note, the second nite of our  FIT CLINIC should be happening on Friday 9/12 at the Kingsbury Club.  We do this once a year at the beginning of short course to get the team fitted for all the apparel that needs to be ordered in bulk and that we want to have “emblazoned” with our KINGFISH LOGO!!!  These items include team suits, towels, caps with names, warmups, and parkas.  We did have a fitting Monday nite and did NOT have a great turnout.  Once we are notified by Kingsbury we will let you know the time on Friday for the balance of the team to come and order their gear.  PLEASE NOTE, if you do not let Lynn know your suit size on or by Friday one will be ordered for you if you are on the competitive team.  If you are on rec and your swimmer will be participating in any meets a team suit MUST be ordered and Friday will be the last day to do that.

Lastly, don’t forget our team apparel store is open through 9/15!  This will be the only time to get the apparel you need prior to startup of short course season.  The next time the store will be open is right before the holidays from 10/15-11/15.  If you want to see what cool gear we have to offer go to:

Parent Meeting Schedule

We will holding our parent meetings at the Kingsbury Club next week and the following week as we do every year to kick off the season with pertinent info, meet info, general guidelines as well as giving you all the opportunity to ask questions of your swimmers coach.  We ask that everyone make the effort to attend these very informative meetings so that there is less confusion going into the season.

All meetings will be held in the tennis viewing room at the Kingsbury club and the schedule is as follows:

Senior Parents: Monday the 15th at 5pm
Junior Parents:  Tuesday the 23rd at 6:30pm
Ag and Dev Parents:  Friday the 19th at 5pm
