Bring a friend to practice

BRING A FRIEND TO PRACTICE!

On Wednesday July 1st, all Developmental and Age Group swimmers will be welcome to “Bring a Friend to Practice”.

Kingfish Swimming has partnered with SwimToday.org to emphasize the team aspect of swimming, encourage word of mouth regarding the sport  amongst  our families, create a positive enjoyable swim community and make the sport so much more inviting!

Joining a new sport can be intimidating and we aim to overcome that by having our swimmers bring those friends that don’t fully understand what they do, want to try a  swim team but have been apprehensive, and desire to give a team sport a shot but are afraid they may not fit in ………..THIS IS FOR THEM!!!!

We have wonderful, positive, respected coaches in Coach Jaime, Coach Max, and Coach Abby that are so excited to show new swimmers exactly what swimming with a team like Kingfish Swimming is all about!

Coaches will be giving their swimmers invitations to hand out to their friends over the next two weeks.  All friends can come together on the 1st to our practice that is held at the Kingsbury Club from 4-530 for DEV and 4-6 for AG.    All Kingfish swimmers that bring a friend will get a SwimToday.org prize and their friend that presents an invitation  will receive a FREE Kingfish Swim Cap!  When checking in at the front desk just have “your friend” say they are doing a tryout!

We are looking to make this a fantastic event!   In partnership with SwimToday.org we look forward to building a movement to get more kids who are currently taking lessons, taken lessons in the past, swam recreationally, to “SWIM” onto teams and, in this case KINGFISH!

Anyone who’s had the pleasure of wearing chlorine as perfume knows swimming is the funnest sport there is!  It’s  our job to give kids the encouragement they need to turn their love of water into a lifelong sport!

Any questions can be directed to Lynn O’Neil at loneil@kingfishswimming.com or 774-766-9063

Look forward to seeing you on the 1st!

Summer Schedule/Drop Zone/Bring a Friend

Tommorrow is the official start of the summer practice schedule!

By clicking from the home page “when we practice” you will be able to see changes (if any) to your swimmers schedule.

I’ve also posted a few of the summer swim meets we will be hosting at the club under “summer swim meets”.  If you are interested in participating let your coach know so that they can get you signed up.

Drop zone on the 10th of July from 4-7 is a go!  Everyone is responsible for their own transportation to and from Plymouth but feel free to organize any carpooling that you can.  All payment is due this Friday and can be left in an envelope in my folder at the club.  The cost for each swimmer is $15 which will include the 3 hours of activities at the venue.  Any food or beverage will be extra so if you want to send your swimmer with extra money please do so.

“Bring your friend to swim” for DEV and AG is this coming Wednesday July 1.

All DEV and AG swimmers were given “invites” for their friends.  Please make sure your friend brings back their invite with parents name and email address on it to pass into the coach.  All invited friends with a valid invitation will be able to swim for the practice and receive a free Kingfish Cap!  All swimmers that “invited” a friend will receive a SwimToday.org gift!

Any questions please email or call me at 774-766-9063.

Lynn

Drop Zone team event

Just wanted to remind Sr/JR/AG/DEV  if anyone is interested in going to Drop Zone in Plymouth on July 10 with the team we need to have your commitment no later than tomorrow, Wednesday at noon.  This event would take place of all regularly scheduled practices for that day and the cost would be $15 per person.

Please email if you will be going.

Lynn

Rec Practice Schedule Changes

Effective immediately, we will no longer be offering practice on Saturday mornings for rec.  We arrived at  this decision as we monitored attendance on weekends and have found for months now coaches being on deck sometimes with 0 swimmers in attendance.

We will still be offering Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at the same time throughout the rest of the summer session.

If you have any questions at all feel free to email or call me.

Thanks in advance for your understanding.

Lynn

Lots of Info

REC

So today was the last day of spring rec!  Summer rec kicks off this coming Tuesday June 2nd and we still have some space left in the 3 levels.  If you are interested or know someone that is please go to our site www.kingfishswimming.com to take a look at our programs and when you are ready to register just contact Lynn at loneil@kingfishswimming.com to register!

JR/SR BANQUET is scheduled for June 9th in the pub at Kingsbury however, we have had very little response from the team as far as the response received to reserve tickets.    This evening always proves to be a great nite for all especially our guests of honor, the graduating seniors!  We have 3 amazing ladies this year but we need your commitment that you will be attending no later than Monday 6/1.  To commit please leave your check in my folder for the amount of guests attending by this date.

Kingsbury Club has scheduled “bubble down” starting June 8 and hopefully having it down and back in action by the 12th.  We are lucky enough to have PWP as an option for practices during this time.  Therefore, we have put together a temp schedule that hopefully will work for that time:

Week of June 8-12:
Monday 5:30-7pm    JR/SR  practice
Tuesday 4:00-5:30    Rec practice
Wednesday 5:30-7pm  DEV/AG  5:30-6:15     JR/SR  6:15-7p
Thursday 4-6pm;  REC 4-5p   JR/SR  5-6p
Friday  HOPEFULLY back at Kingsbury!  We will let you know though!

We were just notified of a change in warmup/meet start times for this weekend:

Just some updates.

We have moved the afternoon warm-ups to 11:00 am. The sessions will start at noon.

We will be using 7 lanes for competition. Lane 8 will be available as a warm down lane. There can be no diving during the meet in this lane.

Parking is restricted to Lots C and D – see attached map.

The meet is sponsored by two local eateries. Please encourage Kingfish families  to support them where possible. Both are nearby.
