LAST MINUTE REMINDERS…………………………

Last minute reminders……………….

Competitive groups start practice tomorrow 8/31 for our 2015/2016 season.  All swimmers MUST be registered prior to attending practice!!  Please arrive to your respective practices early, with all required equipment, and armed with a great attitude!

All rec groups start practice Tuesday 9/1 which kicks off our Fall rec session.  All practices are held at Kingsbury Club and times for each group are listed from the button on the homepage “when we practice”.

All new swimmers in ALL groups MUST have a birth certificate or passport copy on file with me.  If you have not submitted or left it in my folder at the club you must bring to your first practice.  Any swimmer that has not provided me with this that shows up for practice WILL NOT be able to swim.  Please realize this policy is being communicated through NE Swim and there is no wiggle room.

All swimmers upon registering receive a confirmation email with an attachment.  Your attachments provide you with some very important information and one of those items is the equipment that is required for each swimmer to have in their respective groups. Please read this attachment and if you have any questions at all feel free to email or call.

SATURDAYS have been added BACK onto the rec schedule!  This was a very important practice day for alot of rec swimmers so you asked and we listened!  When determining your rec swimmers schedule please look at the days/times offered and construct your swimmers schedule.  We know everyone has conflicts in their schedules and we are fairly flexible however, as close as you can stick to the days/times chosen would be appreciated!

Our annual “fit clinic” will be held at the Kingsbury Club this Thursday September 3rd starting at 5pm.  This event is held annually to allow our swimmers to get fitted for team suits, warmups, parkas etc.  Additionally, we place  orders for  team towels, caps personalized with names and items that we need to order in bulk that can only be ordered once per year.  Please make every effort to attend this event at some point during the evening to get your appropriate apparel/equipment ordered.  We will have coaches on hand as always to make sure the fit is right and you are getting everything that you need!  Keep in mind returning swimmers……….we ARE getting a NEW SUIT this year so you may want to see how this style fits prior to placing your order!  Keep in mind, these are special orders so once the order is placed you OWN the suit!  All swimmers that will be participating in meets MUST have a team suit.  Competitive swimmers know this, rec swimmers if you think you will be participating in meets please attend.

It has been decided that parent meetings for all competitive groups will be held on September 21st starting at 4p at the Kingsbury Club.  Your swimmers meeting will be held during THEIR practice time.  Please note we request that there is at least one parent/guardian present at each meeting that relates to your swimmer.  REC parent meetings will be held at Kingsbury Club on September 22nd.

Any equipment that was ordered through me will be delivered tomorrow and Tuesday respectively for your swimmer.  If you need anything else in the interim that I can bring please let me know.

This is alot of information but the beginning of the season typically falls this way!  Please don’t hesitate to email me or call me at 774-76-9063 and I will help with whatever you are having questions/issues with!

Birth cert or Passport copies needed

Just a quick but very important reminder……………….Any NEW SWIMMER registering for ANY of our levels MUST get me a copy of your swimmers passport or birth certificate prior to them being able to swim next week.

There is no leeway on this and the regs are being passed down from NE Swim and USA Swimming.  It can be scanned and emailed to me or left at the club in my folder.  If it is left at the front desk they will get it to me.

Please understand this is a very busy time of the year and I don’t have time to call everyone that is registering to remind you.  However, if this requirement is NOT met and you come to practice next week unfortunately, your child will not be permitted to swim.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Swim outlet link on site

Just wanted to let everyone know about an exciting new way that we will be able to fund raise for the team with very little effort!

Most all of us at some point during the season shop with SwimOutlet.com.  We have formed a team partnership with them so Swim outlet will reimburse us back a percentage every quarter on all orders placed by our team via the link we have posted!

The link is posted on the “scrolling tape” at the bottom of  the home page and once clicked it will pop up saying you are now shopping through the Kingfish Affiliate Link.

The link itself, if you don’t want to wait for the scrolling one is  http://www.swimoutlet.com/kingfishswimming
By clicking on this as well when you are placing your orders will help us raise money to buy equipment or training materials that we tend to need each year.

Any questions don’t hesitate to email or call me at 774-766-9063

TEAM STORE NOW OPEN!

Our team apparel store will be open for orders again starting tomorrow,  Saturday August 29th.  It will remain open until September 30th at which time your orders will be processed and shipped out to your homes.

You are still  able to purchase backpacks, kickboards, mesh bags, caps and stickers through Lynn at any time but all team clothing now will be ordered direct.   The store will be “open” 4 buying periods throughout the year and will stay open for about a month each time.  After it closes orders will be collected and processed and you can expect to receive your merchandise within 2-3 weeks after.  The open sessions left are ,    10/30-11/15,  and 2/20-3/20.

Team suits, parkas, towels, warmups and caps with names will still be ordered through Lynn in early September as we typically do and there will be emails sent out pertaining to when those bulk orders will be placed.  We have scheduled the “fit clinic” for September 3rd.

Please take a look and see if there is anything that you need to stock up on to get ready for short course season as the next ordering period after this won’t be till mid October.  We have added alot of new cool branded apparel and please make sure everyone has all of the required apparel as season starts so definitely check it out!

If you have any questions you can email or call Lynn at loneil@kingfishswimming.com or 774-766-9063.

Well, our fall registration links are FINALLY active!  Thanks to everyone for your patience while we dealt with these technical difficulties!

The Fall session of Rec is slated to start on September 1.  All practices will be held at Kingsbury Club and schedules can be found by clicking the link “when we practice” from our homepage.  At this time we have 3 days/times offered for you to choose your swimmers practice sessions from.  Since this session of rec is filling up extremely quick we may be adding another weekend day to the mix so watch for emails and updates to schedules in the next week. Fall session ends 11/24/2015.

USS Short Course Season kicks off August 31st for ALL GROUPS.   Practice  times  can all be found from the button on our homepage  “when we practice”.    All swimmers must be registered for the 2015/2016 swim season prior to attending practice and all equipment required for the group you are in should be brought to your first practice.  If there are questions regarding  this, your equipment/apparel list will be attached to your confirmation email upon registration.  Please note this list may be added to by your coach as the season progresses.

We will be doing our annual Fit Session on September 3rd starting at  5pm at the Kingsbury Club.  We will have our NEW suit style in all sizes to try on for girls and guys.  Warmups to try on for anyone that doesn’t have one as well as for our new swimmers.  Seniors and juniors will all be needing Parkas this year so anyone that doesn’t own one yet will need to try these on for correct sizing. You will be able to order team towels, personalized kickboards, mesh bags, tshirts, etc so please make sure you come so we can get these orders placed in a timely fashion!  This is the nite you will be able to order your swimmers personalized caps with their last names on it as well.  Please keep in mind we only order alot of these items once per year so 9/3 will be the nite to cover it!  This evening is open to USS and Rec however, unless your rec swimmer will be participating in meets they are NOT required to attend this clinic.  If your rec swimmer does intend on participating in meets a team suit IS REQUIRED

We will be holding 2 Informational Meetings for Parents again this year.  We do not have dates/times ironed out at this point but want to make all parents aware that we  request every swimmer (USS and REC) have at least one parent representing them at  one of the meetings.  These meetings don’t run very long however, they are packed with information regarding your swimmers season and it helps everyone get questions answered on the spot.  Dates to follow very shortly!

All practice schedules, meet schedules, rec days/levels/times have all been posted to the site under their appropriate headings.  Please take the time to look things over to stay informed. And please note all emails get posted to front page of our site and end up in our blog.  You can always check there if you think you have missed something.

VERY IMPORTANT….. Any new swimmer joining the team, both USS and Rec, you need to forward a copy of your childs passport or birth certificate to Lynn O’Neil upon registration.  This IS a REQUIREMENT of NE Swim and we have been informed this season your child will NOT be able to swim and cannot be registered without it.

Additionally, if you have questions as to what competitive group your swimmer should be registered for please don’t hesitate to email or call me.  Its much easier for me to look up the list the coaches gave than have you register and then have to change after the fact.

Any questions about the content of this email can be directed to me at loneil@kingfishswimming.com or I can be reached via cell at 774-766-9063

Congratulations

Hello All,

Congratulations on a very successful championship season!  We will soon finish the summer season with a 2 week stroke clinic starting on August 17th.  We will continue to follow the summer schedule.  Looking forward to a great fall and winter season, which we will roll right into on August 31, switching over to the school year schedule at that point.

For meets, we have posted on our homepage the weekends that we will tentatively attend meets.  Remember, everyone on the Competitive team is expected to compete at MOST of the meets.  Anyone on the Recreational team is allowed to compete in meets but they have to email Coach Craft with which ones they want.  Remember, meets are entered and paid for about 2 months ahead of time.  Another date to remember is that the bubble will be going up the week of Sep 14th so the practice schedule may change that week.

A huge thank you to Max Butler and Abby Mullen for the time they spent coaching at Kingfish.  Abby is going to pursue her Nursing Degree and Max has accepted a teaching and coaching job out in western Mass.  I am sure we will still get to see them from time to time around the pool.  Exciting options for them and we wish them the best of luck.

We have been very lucky to find a wonderful coach to step in that is ready, willing and able to kick off our 2015/16 short course season with us!

Brian Keane has been the head Age Group coach with Black Rock Country Club for the past 5 years.  He swam 6 years under Coach Craft on Kingfish and still holds the 200 Free team record!  We are in the interview process to fill Abby’s position at the moment.  A number of great candidates are in queue.

Lets welcome Brian and wish Max and Abby the very best as we go into another great winning season!
