Rec practice changes/Registration/Team Suits

Written by Lynn Oneil Posted March 30, 2015 at 6:25 pm

Starting immediately and going forward all practices for rec will be held at the Kingsbury Club.  Times are posted on our site from the home page “when we practice” and check your level for rec.

Additionally, all competitive groups started back today and we still have some swimmers that came to practice unregistered.  Please get them registered tonite prior to their next practice and of course if you are having any issues give me a call and I’d be happy to help.

I only have a few team suits left so if you are in need email me and I can deliver to your swimmer at the pool.  Remember if you will be participating in any meets (rec) you need a team suit and these are only ordered once a year so once these are gone I will not be reordering till September.

Rec Practice and Long Course Registration

Written by Lynn Oneil Posted March 23, 2015 at 7:06 pm

Two reminders……….

All rec practices will still be held at Kingsbury for the balance of March.  There has been some question due to the fact PWP opens up again tomorrow but they will remain at Kingsbury for March and we will let all families know where they will be held for April and May as soon as we have a firm schedule.

Long course starts up for competitive  teams a week from today,  March 30.   Please remember to get your swimmer registered prior to coming to practice next week.

Any questions email me or feel free to call, 774-766-9063

Champs in VT…………….AND we have another meet at WHEATON

Written by Lynn Oneil Posted February 25, 2015 at 10:52 am
Hello all,

Silver Championships was really awesome!

This weekend we have 12 and Under Championships in White River Junction for Riley Moeykens, Alexa Connors, Katie Tessin, Nate Derby, Sam Craft, and Ella Derby.  Good luck to all.

The following weekend, we are going to ADD a meet at Wheaton College.  It is a good meet for the 12 and unders that are NOT going to Vermont to end their season on.  It is also a good meet for 13 and overs to either make a couple more cuts for their big meet the following weekend, or just to have one more shot at some events they want to get some best times in.

Since this meet is brand new to our schedule, I would like a response from you IF YOU WOULD LIKE your child to attend, the events they would like to swim, and which days.  If I don’t hear from you, I will assume you do NOT want your child to go.  All requests must be received no later than this Friday at 6p.

The link below gives all the meet information:

Thanks.

winter rec finishing/spring rec info/long course info

Written by Lynn Oneil Posted February 23, 2015 at 5:55 pm

Just a reminder winter rec finishes up this Wednesday.  Spring rec will be starting up on March 3rd and will be going back to the schedule of times we had for fall with a few small adjustments,  Tues/Thurs 4-530p, Saturdays 8:00-9:30a and Sundays 9-11. Level 1 is the first 45 minutes of all practices as usual and you still pick 2 of the 4 times offered.  All practices will be held at Kingsbury for March.  Registration is live NOW and  space is filling up quickly as spring tends to do so make sure to get your swimmer registered soon to secure their spot!  All times for spring will be posted on the site by end of day today for future reference.

On our competitive side practice schedules are  the same right through March 15 which is when we will take a well deserved 2 week break before jumping back into the pool on March 30th to begin training for our long course season.  Some qualifiers will swim beyond the March 15th date according to Coach Crafts discretion.  That being said, you can get your athlete registered at any point from now through mid March for long course as registration is available now!

As always, any questions feel free to email me or reach me via cell at 774-766-9063.

Thanks,

Lynn

winter/spring rec practice times/facilities

Written by Lynn Oneil Posted February 19, 2015 at 10:28 pm

So as our rec families know PWP has decided to close for maintenance starting this coming Monday the 23rd.  Unfortunately, we were informed at the same time as most of you so we have had to think quick and work with our other facilities to make practices work and have things happen as seamlessly as possible.

Tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday will all be regular practice times for rec at PWP.  Next Monday and Wednesday level 1 will be normal practice schedule at Kingsbury as it has been all winter and Wednesday (25th) will be the last regular practice for level one.  This Sunday will be the last regular practice for level 2 so since you will be missing out on 3 practices to complete your winter session we will be offering any level 2 families an entire week of practices during spring or summer rec for your inconvenience.

Spring rec starts up on March 3 and all practices for the month will be held at Kingsbury Club.  Tues/Thurs practices will be 4-4:45 for level 1 and 4-5:30 for level 2 and 3.
Saturday practices will be 8-8:45 for level 1 and 8-9:30 for level 2 and 3 and Sundays will be 9:30-10:15 for level 1 and 9:30-11 for level 2 and 3.  Same as always, level 1 chooses 2 practices per week, level 2 chooses 3 practices per week and level 3 chooses all four practices for the week.

We don’t have a definite date for practices moving back to PWP at this point so this will cover the month of March and we will update you as we receive information from the town.

Any questions or concerns can be directed to Lynn via email loneil@kingfishswimming.com or her cell is 774-766-9063.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding during this temporary transition!

Silvers timing assignments/Parking

Written by Lynn Oneil Posted at 2:33 pm

Hello all.  We have been assigned a bunch of timing slots to fill this coming weekend.  If you are  not able to fill the role, please find someone who can.  Please do not respond to this email stating that you can’t time.  We picked the names randomly from the swimmers at each session and since most (if not all) swimmers are in relays, most folks will be there until the end of the meet anyway. 威而鋼

Also, attached are instructions from the meet  director on where they want swimmers families to park for the meet.

Friday night we need 1 timer.  These 3 people can share the duty:
Davenport, Hume, Diehl

Saturday morning we need 1 timer.  These 3 people can share the duty:
Morrissey, Kropp, Gauntt

Saturday afternoon we need 1 timer.  These 3 people can share the duty:
Damphousse, Buckley, Stack

Sunday morning we need 1 timer.  These 3 people can share the duty:
Derby, Ali, Couto

Sunday afternoon we need 1 timer.  These 2 people can share the duty:
Martin, Milbert

Thanks.

Weather/Regionals/Rec Practice

Written by Lynn Oneil Posted February 13, 2015 at 11:04 am

We have been getting alot of emails and calls regarding the meet this weekend and if weather will cause it to be cancelled.  I have never seen a meet canceled due to weather and as it goes now the meet is on.  I am putting a link below to the Seekonk pool so that you can check periodically and plan accordingly.

Additionally, we will keep you as informed as we can via email from your swimmers coaches as we find anything out.

Lastly, the championship shirts will be handed out at the meet so your swimmers can check with their coaches to grab them.

One more thing, PWP just let us know the pool will be closed on Sunday so there won’t be any rec practice held!
