Happy Holidays, Kingfish!

Last year, we came together as a team around the holidays and donated an incredibly generous amount of gift cards to the Duxbury Interfaith Council gift basket drive.  They were so thankful that they asked if we’d be able to participate again.  The donations usually pour in for younger children, but where they often come up short is in gifts for older children, especially teenagers. This is where the gift cards are tremendously appreciated, as they allow the teens to go and select exactly what they’d like for themselves.  

I have received the list of requested stores from the DIC, and they are as follows:

Best Buy (5 cards)
Dick’s Sporting Goods (5)
Target (5)
American Eagle (5)
Hollister (5)
Vineyard Vines (2)
iTunes (8)
AND Amex or VISA cards **these are helpful to fill in holes in the gift baskets for any age bracket (5)

Cards of any value are appreciated; last year most people donated ones $10-25 in value.  If memory serves, we were able to collect over $500 as a team, a number I’d love to surpass if we can!  If you would like to contribute to this effort, please email me at laurenlizzie@yahoo.com; I will keep track of the donations and make sure everything gets to the Duxbury Interfaith Council. I will be at drop off and pickup for practices on Monday and Friday this week, I also have a Kingfish mailbox where the other coach folders are as well at the Kingsbury Club, which I will check daily.  If possible, we’d like to have all donations collected by Decmeber 10th, so that they can be delivered and divided amongst the gift baskets.

Percy Walker Pool has notified us of a few closures on the pool that will affect rec swim practice.

Pool is closed next Tuesday 11/11 for Veterans Day.

Pool is unavailable on 11/22 due to rec dept hosting Turkey Trot.

Please choose alternate days for your child to swim if these are regularly scheduled days for you.

Last day of Fall Rec will be 11/25.

Winter Rec Registration is live now!  The winter session begins on December 3rd and runs through February 28th.  

We will be changing over to our winter schedule so there is a change in times/days/location and they are as follows:

Spaces are filling quickly so get your swimmer registered as soon as possible!

 Just an FYI, all orders that were placed with Rockland Athletics were shipped yesterday and today so watch for them at your homes soon.

Also, there are some road closures/construction delays per Mass DOT on route 3 this weekend.   Traffic will most likely be heavy and backed up so plan accordingly for getting to the meet in Quincy if your child is swimming.  Here is the link from DOT regarding closures;
